The Night Before
All packed and ready to go.
UND was great in sneaking me to the front of the line for a stage pilot so I could complete my private pilot's license exam before leaving on this trip - I'm now a certified pilot.
Leaving North Dakota, I nearly left my passport in my apartment, but remembered it in the knick of time. I'm flying out of Minneapolis, which is the original town I'm from so I spent the day running some last minute errands and catching up with some old friends.
My flight takes off at 6:50 in the morning with a 2 hour layover in Dallas. I have several friends that work at the DFW airport so I'll catch up with them too, before boarding the long flight from Dallas, TX to Incheon International airport in Seoul. I'll land 3:15pm local time on Saturday and have a day to get acclimated before orientation and the welcome events set for Sunday night.
When I travel I bring both US and the local currency, Won in this case, so that I can take care of any incidental expense. I also look at how much a McDonald's meal costs in the country I'm headed to. That information, along with the exchange rate, tells me how much I expect to spend while I'm there.
Looking forward to a good trip!
